In Testaccio quarter is located a complex of pavilions used for slaughtering of animals and the distribution of meat to the city. The slaughterhouse was decommissioned in 1975 and today is considered one of the best example of Roman industrial archeology. The complex comprises offices of the police department, lecture rooms of the University of Roma Tre and the second branch of the Contemporary Art Museum (“Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Roma” MACRO).The project focuses on a new library for the University of Roma Tre and concernes the restoration of one of the pavilions now disused.
